Polaris Smart Grid Online News: For a long time, there are abundant energy resources in western and northwestern China. How to transport these power resources to other regions? The reporter learned from Chongqing ABB Transformer Co., Ltd. today (19) that the world's largest power high-voltage DC transformer technology has achieved new breakthroughs in Chongqing: the world's first ±1100 kV UHV DC transmission project Changji-Guquan first converter transformer in Chongqing ABB transformer The company has completed production and successfully passed the test and will be put into use. Chongqing will serve as a production site for 1100 kV UHV DC transformers, helping West to East to build a smart green grid.

This morning, the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Chongqing ABB Transformer Co., Ltd. officially kicked off. The reporter followed the relevant person in charge to visit the Chongqing ABB Transformer Co., Ltd. factory in Jiulongpo District. According to Zheng Yuping, general manager of Chongqing ABB Transformer Co., Ltd., as one of ABB's largest transformer manufacturing bases in the world, the company has been focusing on the design and production of power transformers, reactors and high-voltage DC converter transformers. Recently, the world's largest power 1100 kV UHV DC transformer including high-end and low-end transformers has been successfully tested. This is also the world's first 1100 kV UHV DC transformer.

Production scenario

It is understood that the high-voltage DC transformer will be used in the Changji-Guquan ±1100 UHV DC transmission line. This transmission line is the world's first ±1100 kV UHV DC line, which is set in voltage class, transmission capacity and distance. A new world record. The project will transport Xinjiang's power to Anhui, with a transmission power of 12 million kilowatts, equivalent to the power of 12 large power plants. Compared with the currently operating ±800 kV UHV DC transmission project, the transmission capacity has increased by 50%. The project also increased the transmission distance of 2,000 kilometers to more than 3,000 kilometers. After the project is put into operation, it will supply electricity to eight 500 kV and two 1000 kV AC lines, which will deliver twice the annual electricity consumption in Switzerland. At the same time, the breakthrough technology also connected ±1100 kV UHV DC transmission lines to 750 kV AC lines for the first time. “This technological breakthrough has strongly supported long-distance, low-loss, high-capacity transmission. At the same time, it also interconnects DC and AC grids, laying the foundation for future cross-regional and inter-country grid interconnection.” Fang Qin, President of ABB Power Division This will also help build a stronger, smarter and greener grid.

In the future, ABB's power grid division will continue to promote localization strategies, develop and apply leading technologies for key areas such as renewable energy grid integration, grid automation, digital grid and microgrid, covering power generation, transmission, distribution and power generation. The power full value chain solution continues to help customers improve grid capacity, improve grid stability, improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact, actively build future power grids, and support the development of the western region to a new stage.
